Photograph album, 1901-1902, with a black leather cover with a cream colored abstract leaf and branch pattern on it. The album includes sepia tone photographs glued onto black pages of the album, documenting Doughty's trips from Detroit (Mich.) to Buffalo (N.Y.), 1901, for the Detroit Bi-Centenary, with 11 p. of 15 parade photographs, including numerous floats. Next, are her photographs of a visit to the Pan-American Exhibition in August 1901, which includes 16 pp. with 23 photographs of buildings, fountains, buildings lit with electricity at night, and people. Her trip from Detroit to Duluth (Minn.), September 1902 includes 24 p. of 29 photographs of the ship's interior, exterior and crew, other ships, Duluth views from sea and land, a lighthouse, and people. All the photographs, some round on a square white field, other square filling the field, measure 3 and 3/4 inches by 4 and 3/4 inches. It is possible Margaret took the photographs herself. The photograph album is in excellent condition.

Doughty wrote a thesis for her M.S. from Iowa State College (1941). The Doughty Hosue, built ca. 1865 in Mount Pleasant (Mich.) was pruchased by her father, Wilkinson Doughty (d. 1909) in 1869. He was an early hardware and drygoods merchant, town trustee, and found of Central Michigan University. Papers related to the Doughty House are also housed at the Clarke Historical Library. The house, built ca. 1865, was bought by her father, Wilkinson Doughty (d. 1909) in 1869. He was an early hardware and drygoods merchant, town trustee, and founder of Central Michigan University.
